Subject Matter Areas

This page presents the current list of the Training Registry's Subject Matter Areas ("SMAs"). The purpose of this page is to allow potential applicants to explore what SMAs can be selected when completing the applications to become Recognized Instructors wnd when details of course are entered.

In the application to become Recognized Instructors, up to six SMAs can be selected. For courses, up to three SMAs can selected. The SMAs are used within the Training Registry to establish the expertise of the instructors and to provide a general indication of course content.

The list is not finite or fixed. Additional SMAs are added as they are requested, reviewed and approved. Such additions could include new areas of expertise that are brought to our attention and new process areas as they are introduced into British Columbia and the Yukon. A mechanism is worked into the system to enable you to request new SMAs if your particular expertise is not included within the existing SMA list.

Please note that nothing will be saved or stored when you used these pulldown lists or when the See Selection button is clicked. The Request New SMA button will enable you to request SMAs that you feel should be included in the list.
